Mark and Suzanne Got Married!
Mark and Suzanne got married on August 3. Boy do they have a lot of friends and family! To include all those wonderful folks in their wedding in a meaningful way, they got really creative. And really organized. Seriously, I think Suzanne had the most details (and the longest shot list) of any bride I've worked with, but she was also really good at moving through the day purposefully, so just about everything actually got done. And nobody had a meltdown or anything. :)
Their ceremony was at Austin Bluffs Community Church in Colorado Springs. Before the wedding, they had a "first look" so they could grab a few special (giddy!) moments together before all of the portrait shooting and singing and vow making commenced.

So happy to be marrying you today!
The ceremony begins: the beautiful bride and her proud daddy.
Like I said, soooo many friends and family, both on the platform and in the congregation. These guys are well-loved!
Immediately following the ceremony, Suzanne and Mark had planned a root beer float and cake reception in the church's multi-purpose room. So everyone got to celebrate with them and do all the traditional wedding stuff—cake cutting, garter toss, bouquet toss and first dances.
Gorgeous cake! I've never seen anything like it, and it fit the pastoral theme of the day beautifully.
After the first reception, the two of them got to take a breather and have a quiet drive together up to La Foret Camp and Conference Center in Black Forest. We were holding our breath weeks before the wedding because La Foret was just barely outside the burn area of the Black Forest Fire. At first, we heard it burned. Then we heard it didn't! It took a while to be sure the camp would be open on wedding day. It was!
When the bride and groom arrived there, they shared a few moments
After some fun couple portraits, we rejoined the rest of the wedding party. Suzanne was hoping for wildflowers in these, and we got some! Meanwhile, close friends and family who attended the dinner reception at LaForet were chatting and playing all kinds of games in Inglis Hall.
That is quite the lineup!
Yes, those are raindrops dotting the backdrop. The whole wedding party was
The journey of a lifetime begins with a single step ... together
Thanks, Mark and Suzanne, for letting me be part of your big day!
